E-Mail marketing remains the prominent way of reaching potential customer without any hindrance; it’s a mode of exhibiting the strengths of a product or service that grabs attention of a user. Frankly speaking E-Mail marketing drastically reduced the usage of paper or natural resources at a considerate level. It has made things easy for the marketers to increase revenue and make the business to boom. As per the Survey there are about 122 billion emails generated every hour around the globe, that’s an incredible stat! Let’s now discuss how it has started? What’s the current trend? Where does it lead to?
How it has started? It started off with the invention of the World Wide Web [WWW] which has thrown opportunities to showcase/advertise products online with a message sent electronically to a dedicated personal inbox of a customer. Ever since then, E-Mail marketing has been in an upward trend and no look back. The trend has continued along with growing usage of E-Mail services and Businesses streamlined for online services. Initially E-Mail marketing was solely concentrated in North America, Western Europe & Japan but later it expanded to other territories that were inaccessible.
What’s the Current Trend? E-Mail marketing is a booming business right now; it has opened the doors (I’d say wide open) for business opportunities as well as build Customer base to retain the business, helping to stay in the market. As per the trend there are many young adults switching their E-Mail messaging services from a computer system to mobile devices worldwide pushing the businesses to adapt compatibility in E-Mail Marketing strategies, Such strategies will grab the attention of the users to buy/view a product with just one tap of a touch screen button.
Mobile Apps has made things a touch of ease with an ever-growing number of users switching from standard browser oriented E-Mail services to App oriented E-Mail services. E-Mail marketing in the current trend holds a lion share on any direct marketing businesses that caters the vast range of audiences. But, E-Mail marketing also has its cons that question on the social impact it causes in terms of Privacy & Spam. This is an area that needs attention for any privacy of a person who is reluctant to view such mails.
Where does it lead to? I see future is all bright for E-Mail marketing as it will challenge the likes of Social Marketing in a big way in churning out major share of businesses diverted to direct marketing business, As the saying goes “Seeing is Believing” many potential customers are opting to choose their service using E-Mail Marketing rather than Social Marketing. E-Mail marketing will also allow small businesses to build their brand by showcasing the positives in their product offerings. It is an exciting opportunity to create employment in this sector with more unemployed youth getting attracted to shape up their career.
E-Mail marketing will help in building strong brand image and trust if used in a proper way and with an advancement of technology E-Mail marketing will evolve in reinventing itself.
